Kolbe got $10 for his birthday back in March. We are just now getting around to taking the kids shopping so they can spend their bday money.
When I went to get Kolbe's $$ which was stashed near our wine (I took it because I didn't want him to lose it), it was missing!!!
"Craig! Do you know where Kolbe's $10 bill is?"
Craig said, "Sure! I took it but I'll pay him back."
Upon hearing this Kolbe started crying because he only heard the "took it" part.
Craig then said, "Kolbe, don't worry. I have your money. Its just plastic now."
Kolbe started crying even harder and said, "Mommy! Daddy turned my money into plastic and now I can't spend it because its plastic money! Daddy, how come you turned my money into plastic? Can you please turn back into real money?"

I'm laughing AND feeling sorry for poor li'l Kolbe right now...poor li'l guy thinks Daddy ripped him off!!!
I think Daddy should pay Kolbe a dollar of interest for having taken his $10 and turned it into plastic... ;-)
Daddy paid more than that! His toys were $11 PLUS tax. So in the end Kolbe came out alright! He now has two plastic sumarai swords and a squishy, sticky frog to show for.
