Coming to a theatre near you ..... Sept. 26

This looks to be a promising Christian film that builds up marriages. And the star, Kirk Cameron, also used to be one of my favorites when I was younger! LOL!! Enjoy the trailer. I think we might go see it.

12th Wedding Anniversary Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our 12th Wedding Anniversary.

However, Craig and I are celebrating it tonight. Its become tradition to go out and do the things we used to do when we were dating. Somehow, doing those same things make me feel just as young. No, I'm not that old (34 yo), but I'm also starting to realize that I'm not that young either. ;-)

I'm no longer the youngest one in my homeschooling group. And things are starting to get easier with my crew. For example, Thursday I took all five kids to the dollar movies to see Nim's Island. It was a piece of cake. They all sat and ate their popcorn. We only had to bribe Catherine once.

I still remember how overwhelmed I felt after Kolbe was born. When I was pregnant with Catherine I used to be reduced to tears after outings with my little crew. Seasoned (not older) moms used to tell me it would get easier in a few years when the older kids became older and more helpful. But I didn't like hearing it would be easy in a few years. It wanted help sooner. It seemed like forever.

Last Thursday, as we were leaving the movies, Isabelle was holding Catherine's hand. Anna was holding the diaper bag for me. And Kolbe and Sophia were at my side. And it finally dawned on me. Those years have passed and my kids are getting older and more helpful. Somehow, the years I thought would take forever happened in the blink of an eye.

Which must mean I am getting older, too?!?

When Craig asked me what I wanted to do for our anniversary, I knew immediately it had to be something hip and something we used to do when we were young-er.

So, here are our plans: (below: My 21st bday spent at the Riverwalk .... also my 1st legal drink!! ;-)

1. Dropping the kids (we didn't have any when we were young!!) at my mom-in-laws by 5pm.

2. Going down to the Riverwalk for dinner. We
used to spend sooooooo much time down there.

3. After dinner we're heading to The Landing to enjoy some great jazz music.

4. We're staying out LATE!!!! Maybe 'till 11pm or even midnight!!!

Gone are the days of staying out until 2am. I'm afraid I just can't anymore! LOL!

Right now I'm heading to the salon to get an overdue haircut. And then I'm calling my Mary Kay rep for more mascara. I'm determined to be the bride of Craig's youth.

I can't wait!! We might even have a couple come along with us (just like in the old days). Of course it depends on whether they can find a babysitter (NOT like in the old days).

When you're putting your kids to sleep and slipping on your P.J.'s, say a little prayer for us. Pray that we have MANY more years together. And that I don't start yawning.
