Anna's 1st Communion & TGIF

And school is done an hour before lunch time!

Now to get to 1st Communion plans! Anna makes her 1st Communion this Sunday!! YIKES!!

She has her dress and I need to finish making her veil. I never mailed off ANY of the invitations I drove across town to buy. I think I might just mail out announcements, after the fact, to close friends ... maybe!

I don't know why I seem to drop the ball on child number 2. At least she's a very low maintenance gal. She didn't want to invite anyone except for family (and her best little friend in "the woods" but I had to explain how far she lives ... again.)

And I never did order a cake from the bakery I love. I'm running over there to beg but have already come to terms that I might need to get an HEB cake. I'm reusing the communion cake topper I got Isabelle. So all I really need is a white cake with some roses.

I never took her to get studio pictures AND didn't book a hair appointment. I've decided I'm going to play with her hair today to see if I can just do it. And her picture will just be taken kneeling in front of a statue instead of at a studio. Actually, I didn't care too much for Isabelle's studio picture so I'm actually glad to be going this route.

Also, at the last minute we decided to host her party at Macaronni's instead of at the house. We did the same for Isabelle and Anna is VERY excited. Except, this time we don't have any friends coming. :-( Just family.

HOWEVER .... should any friends feel like driving down here, you're invited! ;-) On the bright side, I already have Sophia's invitations, if I can manage to remember where I store them in two years!

And Anna's bday is the following weekend!! YIKES!!! One thing at a time. One thing at a time.

I was telling Craig last night that when they get married they will HAVE to get a wedding planner because I just can't manage to think of more than one thing. BTW, I had a wedding planner plus my 2 moms plan EVERYTHING!!! I just showed up for the dress fitting and wedding. LOL!

Have a great weekend and I'll post pics of Anna as they come. Please pray for her. She's actually VERY, VERY, VERY nervous and has cried a few times. She's actually dreading wearing her white dress in front of "everyone." She doesn't like attention and is convinced everyone will be staring at her. And she's feeling very nervous. Every Sunday for the past few weeks she asks me if today is the day. I think the poor thing might start crying when I answer "yes" this Sunday. Its not that she doesn't love Jesus or want to receieve him. She's just VERY nervous and doesn't like attention.

Pray for my sweet little Anna!! It should be a beautiful mass. Isabelle will be singing in the children's choir, which sounds angelic. In addition to singing the entire Mass, they will sing Panis Angelicus and Ave Maria, in Latin, during Communion.

Oh poor dear! I know this might be too last minute, but I would hate for her to be so nervous that she can't enjoy the day. Have you thought about letting her wear something other than white? How about a pretty blue dress since it is the Blessed Mother's favorite color? Maybe instead of a veil you could find a pretty bow? I know of some friends whose daughter made her FHC at a daily Mass instead of a Sunday Mass to help alleviate her nervousness. Just some thoughts. I am sure she will do fine but I wouldn't feel the need to "follow the rules". My friend's mother was in the hospital when she made her FHC and her Dad (who wasn't Catholic) was told to put her in her best dress. She wore a pretty green German folk dress. She loves to tell that story!

Matilda, you're so sweet. Yeah, she already has her dress and I think she just wants to blend in and not be noticed! At all! LOL!

I asked her if she wanted to make it at daily mass but she didn't like the idea of being the only one, either. Also, Father sometimes questions the children during mass if they are the only one ... YIKES!! We're sitting in the last row so she's not in the front (in case Fr. decides to call on kids.) And we're sitting her in between us. She just gets nervous about anything new or anything involving getting front of people. And this falls under both. Craig was the same way as a child so he's going to stay with her the entire hour they have to be there before mass. And we're letting her opt out of the group photo. She really didn't want to be in it. So I won't be buying it, but that's okay since we don't know any of those children anyway.

We're trying to make as many allowances as possible.

Poor thing! We'll be praying for her. It's nice that she's allowed to sit with you. Ours are more like...pageants. *sigh*

Lillian,

Why don't you post the invitation location or a clue to the location here or email it to yourself. Then, two years from now, if you can't remember, you can look it up.

The pictures are so sweet! Your family is so beautiful! Congratulations to Anna!
