Bugs Have Infested My Home!!

I've really been enjoying the discussion down below. I'm afraid I'll be absent for a while. I'm battling two bugs: the stomach bug in three kiddos (Catherine, Kolbe and Sophia) and this one:

Turns out a box of cake mix I bought had these little critters called meal moths. I hadn't intended on any new pets. I don't know what's worse, the stomach bug or these moths?? Please keep me in your prayers. Craig comes home tonight. I've already thrown away half my pantry, just to be safe. Of course, that leaves us with canned goods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All our cereal, flour, crackers, sugar, bread and oatmeal are gone. :-(

The kids helped me empty the pantry. Isabelle said they can play supermarket now. My kitchen tables and counters runneth over with canned goods.

I promise from here on out to only buy a week's worth of groceries.

School is cancelled!! Today I declare it T.V. marathon day for anyone under the age of 6. This is real good Attachment Parenting, huh?! LOL!! Line up begins with The Rescuers (which is something I need!! LOL!)

I'll be busy laundering sheets and towels, vacuuming and scrubbing the pantry, and attending to sick little ones. Thy will be done, Lord!!

Good luck with your bugs! I've had to empty my pantry more than once. It's no fun!! I then got in the habit of freezing everything that didn't have signs of bugs just in case.

Sounds like a perfect day for a movie marathon!

Prayers for the rest of your day.

I just found those in my pantry, too! I think thy came from a box of cereal. I've never seen or heard of them before. I guess now I need to clean out my pantry, too, but I've been too busy dealing with Gustin's stomach bug. There are way too many bugs around!

What a coincidence! We were just talking about this at our Catholic Mom's group last night. Several of us have brought home moths from HEB recently. The good news is they informed one of my friends that they have begun to spray pesticides all over their store so there is no need to worry in the future! ;) So much for buying organic!

Hope your kids feel better... and that you don't get sick! Have fun battling the bugs... and enjoy your movie marathon. This AP mama has sat her kids in front of the tv for 3 straight days and fed them Pizza Hut pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (I get my kitchen back today, though, so time to go back to the daily grind this afternoon). Yay for us! I love arguing for theories that I don't necessarily follow;)

Hallie!! I bought my cake mix from HEB!!! Oh my goodness!! I was really starting to be hard on myself and thinking I've been too busy to do a good job of keeping my pantry clean. But honestly, my pantry has always look like this!! And this is the first time in 12 years I've had and kind of bugs!!!

My mom-in-law reassured me that I MUST have brought them home from the grocery store. And they were in all the cake mixes I bought. YUCK!!!

The pantry has been cleared, swept, vacuumed, and sprayed. I'm supervising the older kids and plan to mop and clean the shelves.

The little ones are now watching Cinderella. I don't feel so bad because they are sick afterall.

What a day!! LOL!

Yikes! We had those once, and it took a lot of diligent effort to kill them all, along with keeping uninfested stuff tightly closed. Good luck, and I hope those sweet little children are feeling better quickly.

I had a similar infestation once and could NOT get rid of the moths. I kept clearing and cleaning the kitchen pantries and the little buggers kept reappearing. Only when I found them in the pot-pourri in the upstairs bathroom did I finally get rid of them. Good luck!
