Well, I thought I'd post tonight since I won't have time tomorrow or this weekend. Sophia's birthday party is happening this weekend and she is soooo excited. Its her first real birthday party. Last year she had two little friends come over. This year she has about 2-3 coming PLUS cousins PLUS grandparents. She's been talking about her party since JUNE!!! I've never been so happy to see a birthday arrive.
For the last three days she's been asking about the status of her party every hour or so. Last night I took her to get plates and cups and her pinata. She's having a ladybug theme. I was also shocked to hear she expected me to make her a ladybug cake!! WHAT?@#! But of course I will rise to the occasion. Afterall, if I can make Anna a bowling ball cake there's no reason why I can't make a ladybug.
Of course, tonite (after kids go to sleep) I have to clean my house!!! And finish painting the kitchen. And get things ready for the Toddler's Pray and Play with our homeschool group. OH! And sew some patches on the girls sashes for their Little Flower's meeting tomorrow morning!! I wonder if I'll get to bed or be awake when Craig arrives!! ;-)
Craig arrives tomorrow morning about 4am so I expect him to be sleeping when we leave for mass tomorrow morning. He won't get a chance to paint so I hope he likes my attempt! Cousins are expected to arrive tomorrow evening.
I'll post pics of the Ladybug cake and the happy birthday girl this weekend. Would it be inappropriate to read "The Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carle at a birthday?? That book really does describe my Sophia!!! It would be in keeping with the Ladybug theme!!
