It is because of the HMNS that Isabelle wants to be an archeologist. She learned so much here that the science we do at home is just review. I'll have to continue these sort of trips in S.A.

In the picture above Isabelle is turning the wheel and trying to see how much gasoline she would generate with her own energy in 15 seconds. She was able to crank out 3 drops of gasoline!! 3 drops!! Now I don't mind paying for gas as long as I don't have to crank it!

I can't even begin to tell you what Isabelle is staring at. Something to do with electricity. She always stands in front of this display, mesmorized.

I know its called a "Christmas tree" and I know it has something to do with oil rig sites. Kolbe loves to try climbing it. This stands outside a "virtual tour" of an oil rig where you get in an "elevator" and ride down into the earth where they drill for oil. Kolbe is wearing a long black shirt because he had an accident earlier and I didn't bring him a spare set. Go figure the one time I forget a spare set ....

This was taken upstairs. We were trying to get the tall dinosaur in the background.

A dinosaur Wooly Mammoth skeleton. Can you see it?

Kolbe's favorite dinosaur. Every month Sophia always asks (before going up to the skeleton's) "Are they alive? Is it going to eat me?"

Yesterday we went on a field trip to the Great Harvest Bread Company to learn about making bread. Even though we bake at home, it was neat seeing GIANT mixers and GIANT mixing bowels and GIANT ovens. Today we are going to the Houston Zoo. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. All these field trips are making me sad!!!

You can't look back, only forward. Yes, you lose a little, but you are gaining something more important to you. So don't be sad, Lillian!
I LOVE Great Harvest Bread!!! When we lived in VA, I went there all the time for their delicious bread. I miss them out here in CA! :) What a cool field trip.

It can't be that far away, is it? You've got to still go once in a while.
Thanks gals! I know I need to look ahead. I know lots of memories await us in S.A. with family and new friends. I'm just going to miss the friends and favorite memory spots here. Also, my kids are REALLY starting to miss here already. They don't remember living anywhere else. Good thing kids bounce back quickly.
