My midwife highly recommended a lactation consultant that was hard to pin down and get an appt. with. She's in high demand.
The kids have been listening to Glory Stories (and having other forms of media entertainment since I'm busy right now). Their favorite, the one about St. Rose of Lima, has the parable about the knocking man. "Knock and you shall receive." So I did lots of knocking!! LOL!! I filled up her voice box and basically muscled my way into her appointment calendar. She's arriving to my house in 30 mins.!!
Honestly, I almost gave up (both nursing and calling her) but that little CD (which has been played several times a day) really reminded me to not give up. So, in between my phone calls I offered up ever so many Memorares.
My mom (in law) is here and making me dinner. She's going to stay with the kids downstairs while I work with the LC upstairs. Wish us luck!!
And thank you SO MUCH for all your heart felt prayers and comments. When Craig is gone and I'm all alone with the children, you ladies really are my support and have become very dear friends to me ... even if I've never met some of you. Thank you!!

I'm glad you're getting the help you need, Lillian. I've been thinking of you and praying for you, especially at the 3 o'clock Hour of Mercy. I have a special devotion to His Mercy and pray everyday at 3 o'clock for my special intentions. I'm remembering you and Veronica by name, praying for nursing success (and peace of soul for you!) I know how hard it is to deal with nursing difficulties, especially when hubby is gone. So much anxiety!
Praying to Our Lady of La Lache for you!
Echoing someone else's thoughts about structural abnormalities: have you had her palate checked, and her frenulum? I've heard Dr. Sears speak about the little piece of ligament under the tongue being too short to allow the tongue to thrust forward properly and latch properly. Not a common problem, but common enough to make nursing difficult.
I'm also wondering about her neck and head and thinking chiropractic again. I know that you're such a seasoned BFing mother that there has to be something unusual causing the difficulties; you know all the common tricks of the trade. It must be something else, right?
Too much running on, as usual. Hope you find some answers soon. Don't give up!!

One last thought: I know you've been MIA from the MODG/DYOCC loops because of the new baby. Would you like me to post a prayer request on the boards for you and Vernoica? I'm happy to do it, knowing what great prayer warriors those ladies are. But I didn't want to do it without your permission. Let me know if you'd like me to post something.

I'm glad to hear you got her attention! I had no idea they were so hard to get ahold of....I figured in such a big city you'd have a whole bunch of LC's to choose from ect. Wish I were one and could help out. I actually looked into it, but the courses are accessible to me, and they require hours and hours of training experience...which would also be kind of hard to squeeze in. But one of these days, I'd like to go for it.
not accessible...what I'm a typing.
That's wonderful Lillian. The first six weeks are the hardest. There is hope on the horizon, hang in there.
Praying all goes well and that the LC is of invaluable help to you.
