School starts in one week and I've been rearranging and organizing this room (which is VERY chaotic right now). I hadn't noticed she slipped back in until I heard the photocopier (which I relocated to the floor underneath my desk).
Yep! She photocopied her hand!! What really irks me is that she didn't even bother to close the top so LOTS of color ink was wasted to fill the paper with a black/red background.
I'm starting to get nervous about this upcoming school year. No longer is the right math curriculum the most important issue (Singapore vs. Saxon ... don't even ask ..... I can't decide). I don't care that this house isn't completely clutter free.
What I want to know is ... which duck tape is the strongest and most humane?? ;-)
And does CPS frequent the blogs of homeschooling mothers with toddlers? LOL!!
What REALLY gets me is that all this is happening right underneath my nose!! Its not like I'm napping, talking on the phone or BLOGGING!! She's in the same room with me (except for this time)!! I just don't know how to keep up with her stealth capabilities. Were my first 4 children only preparation for this one??

My permanent marker didn't stick to the dry erase board either, though I wanted it too. :-) Came right off with a little windex. Those kids, they get more troublesome the further down the birth order they are, don't they? It's the distraction. They take advantage of every little distraction.
I know JUST what you're saying! My youngest gets in more things than the other 3 combined did at that age! Yikes!

LOL! She is keeping you on your toes! And if CPS monitors blogs...well, most of us are probably going to be scrutinized! LOL
To make your math curriculum decision more difficult I wanted to pass this article along. I've been searching for information to help me make a decision and I found this very interesting! It compares and contrasts Singapore and Saxon! - Jeanne Marie

Jennie,
I think you're right! They KNOW I'm distracted!!
Jeanne Marie,
I've read the articles before. I don't think its fair to Singapore. She even admits she hasn't seen all of what Singapore has to offer. And Singapore does expect parents to supplement with drills. They don't build it into the program.
My dilemma is whether to go w/ am easier program (Saxon) so that I can focus more on her reading or to stay w/ Singapore so she doesn't get behind in math. I figure I can always switch to Saxon. But I wouldn't be able to go back to Singapore!! I do this to myself EVERY Year! The only reason I'm thinking about it again is because my consultant thinks I should give my dd a break. But if I switch to Saxon it will be all review.
I think Singapore is a superior program. I'm just on the fence on whether I should lighten my dd's work load.
Thank you for the link though. Just wanted you to be aware that the article is biased against Singapore without her ever having reviewed the entire program and its supplements (extra practice wkbks, computer games, home educator's guides, etc.)
Jeanne Marie,
FYI:
I just went to see the article about Singapore again and it is VERY dated!! There are now wonderful home educator's manuals available through Sonlight. And actually there are TONS of manipulatives that you are expected to buy separately (through Rainbow Resource) listen in the educator's manual.
And the program takes off and is a little different starting in 4th grade (which is where she stops her review). There is review built into the texts and supplemental workbooks are available.
Also, a U.S. edition has been out for years and it contains American measurement, weights and currency. I can't believe this article continues to be circulated. Its misinformation and she admits she's critiquing something she hasn't seen!!
I would go to Sonlight for better information on this wonderful and inexpensive program. I DO NOT like Miquon and don't think Singapore needs any supplement except for maybe flashcards (triangular number bonds) and/or fact sheets.
I hope I don't sound mad at you, Jeanne Marie. I'm not!! I would email you privately if I could!!
No, you don't sound mad! I guess I sounded like I know what I'm talking about :) My eldest child is only 4 and I have no idea about any of this. I was just doing some searching to get a handle on things and found the article - which just confused me even more. I was thinking - Oh No! - I need to use two programs simultaneously!!!! I had just read this article the day before, so it was on my mind when I read your post. So, without really thinking enough about it I guess, I just sent it off - thinking it might help you with your decision. Silly of me to think, as a Newbie, I could be of help. :) But thank you for giving me more information. - Jeanne Marie
Your thoughtfulness is appreciated Jeane Marie!!
I personally LOVE Singapore. I'm only considering Saxon so dd can just breeze through math.
