Craig doesn't think my computer can be salvaged!!! My pictures!!!!
At first I thought I was getting a new computer ..... BUT ....... being married to the saavy, technical hubby that he is, HE'S going to get himself a new small notebook laptop and give me his.
Actually, I'm very excited because its wireless and outfitted with Excel andMicrosoft. I haven't had those since college!! I'm mostly excited about being able to go wireless. Our house is like Starbucks (minus the yummy scones) and I was always a little jealous of Craig working in his comfy recliner in the living room while I was stuck at the computer station. Now, I'll have to fight the king for his chair!!!
I'm still praying he can get my pictures. Please go back up your pics right now!!! GO!!

I hope you get your pictures, too. Is the problem the hard drive itself or can you remove it and get the pictures off that way?
Wow, that's awesome. I don't know about the wireless thing...don't you still have to be plugged into the wall for the net?...so obviously I'm behind the technological times. I have a cordless mouse, keyboard...but wireless in total, wow.
Mostly, I'm happy you'll have a computer again.
Funny you should mention the pictures. We've got dh's old computer still sitting around simply because it has all our pictures on it from the first three years of our marriage. We really need to download them and get rid of that ailing dinosaur.
My battery is too worn out to go unplugged, but I am sitting on my bed (long cord). One of these days, I'll get my beloved to splurge on a new one! I'm glad you are back, even if you are on borrowed time. And happy birthday to that baby!
I'm not sure how it works but his laptop has something in it that can accesss the net without being plugged into the wall as long as there is wireless internet in the area. So he had our house wired for it. Right now I'm in the living room!!! Woohoo!!
Maybe its like cell phones?? But more localized? Don't know?
Oh, there is a wireless router you can buy. We got one so we could use the wireless with the laptop, too. I can connect from anywhere: bed, backyard, car, neighbors house... Without the battery, though, I'm still attached to the wall!

I am proud to report that I've backed up all of our pictures. It took hours of off and on work this weekend, but it's done! I will never wait this long again.
