This was our first week back at school and so far so good. Kolbe has surprised me with his eagerness to finish his schoolwork before his siblings. I'm glad for the change in attitude. He normally just wants to play legos. LOL!
Today we took a little break and went ice skating with some nice families. I met three new moms and got to know some other moms better. We are so like minded! Most of them use MODG and have about 6-7 kids in about the same age range. I tend not to see them often because they live on the other side of town or even towards New Braunfels. But I had sooooo much fun and my girls made so many new friends. I think I'm just going to have to be willing to drive out to meet them.
Today we met at an ice skating rink which was probably 40 mins. from my house. Not too bad. Afterwards we went to a local BBQ place to have a late lunch (or in our case drinks ;-). We stayed another 2 hours just talking. I made them promise to invite me to their next outing. Phone numbers were exchanged and I promise to follow up instead of waiting for engraved invitations.
Craig gets home tomorrow after being gone a week. Can't wait for his arrival!
Its been VERY cold here. Like in the 30's!! That's very cold for us southerners!
Today I managed to wash, dry and fold 2 loads of laundry. I graded some math. I did lots of smiling. And we went ice skating. The only thing that went wrong today was that the rink had just bought new skates. Today was their first day in use. My kiddies had to put on lots of bandages from all the blisters.

I hope I congratulated you on your newest blessing, b/c man am I excited! Yippeee!
I'm so glad you got to spend time with some moms you click with. I remember a while back how difficulty it was for you and how your prayer was to have good girlfriends.
Wait--and I just looked at your sidebar. Catherine is 4 now?? I remember when she was just toddling... (haha, like I've met you!!)
So glad to read an update. Prayers!
We have moved our school out the garage where there are no distracting legos and it's going swimmingly!
Legos are the bain of our existance these days too! I try and remind myself that their are far worse toys out there he could have...but they sure are hard to compete with during school time, and are always all over the place.
Lillian,
I have some questions about the homeschool group you have found (I live in central Texas and use MODG.) Should I just ask here or do you want me to email you?
Thanks,
Jeanne (We met your husband at Sea World last year:)
Jeanne,
Email me. That way we can chat longer!! ;-)
