Nashville Dominicans: Final Profession of Vows

Here's a beautiful video of final vows for several Nashville Dominicans, including Sr. Gianna (Aggie formerly known as Jen Junker). Sr. Gianna's conversion story is one of the most amazing stories I know.

Watching this video brought tears to my eyes and even a little bit of holy envy. Oh, to have such a beautiful and orderly life to just love God!!!!! I love being a mother and watching this video made me realize I yearn for more order and more time with my Lord in my chosen vocation.

I'm struggling with the order and discipline part. Today I read The Holy Twins: St. Benedict & St. Scholastica to the kids. I made a mental note to look up St. Benedict's rule. I really need to be more self disciplined with my time. My peace and joy are being robbed due to my own laziness. And also misunderstanding of where my joy should really come from - being a daughter of God and nothing else.

Anyways, enjoy this beautiful video!!!!! What beautiful brides of Christ!!

Focusing

My computer is working. YEAH!! However, I've gotten used to life without Internet, kinda like cable. And I'm juggling lots of plates, remember!! We started school last week and had a wonderful week. 6th, 4th, 2nd, 1st and preschool. School goes more smoothly when I'm not here. :-(

We're still adjusting (I'm still adjusting) to our new school year.

We have co-op and swimming starting in a few weeks so I'm trying to get ahead (or at least stay on track!!! LOL!!)

I'll return when I have a better handle on things.

Off to read to my 1st and 2nd grader.

Prayer Intention: Craig left this morning and will be gone for a week. He'll be home for a couple of days before leaving for another week. Could you keep me in your thoughts and prayers? Maybe drop by for a chat and bring me some tea and cookies?? Internet is usually my escape when he's gone but I'm trying REALLY HARD to be present to the kids.

FYI

I'm sans computer.

She/he decided to go on strike. Actually, that was very generous of him/her considering I have lots of school prep for my rising 1st, 2nd, 4th & 6th graders (who start in 2 weeks). Still, I miss reading blogs, email, and updating my little corner of the blogosphere.

I hope to be back soon. However, I will say that I've completely gutted, vacuumed, de-cluttered and beautified ALL the bedrooms upstairs. The girls and the boy love their rooms. And my room is now a haven again.

I just wish I could take pictures. If my computer doesn't get fixed soon I might just have to tackle my laundry room closet!! LOL!

Miss you!
