Process slowly starting ....

.... I think! Last night around 10pm contractions started and were still around hours later. Of course, Craig and I got excited and Craig did what every father should do .... went and soaked in the tub for a LONG time. After all, his back and feet have been hurting and who knows when he'll have time to take long baths after baby is born. LOL!!!

I just kept sitting around, waiting for them to get stronger and fell asleep while waiting for Craig to finish soaking. I eventually went to bed but did not have a good night's rest. Contractions were coming and going and I was thinking ... FINALLY!!!

Well, they've disappeared. :-( This is normal for me and I had hoped this time would be different. I expect tonight's contractions to be even more intense. And so I predict baby will be here Sunday or Monday. We'll see.

Meanwhile, I'm just waiting. I did repack the baby's bag last night. I needed to add some warmer clothes because the temperature has dropped!! Also, I still can't find the canopy to my infant car seat. I think I'm going to try to make one. We just can't seem to find it anywhere.

School was very light this week. Mostly just math, science, history, silent reading and piano practice. Also, Sophia and Kolbe are doing wonderfully with their 100 EZ Lessons (a book I love to hate). Sophia just got to lesson 50 and is having fun reading "easy books." Kolbe is determined to catch up but is only on lesson 18. Its really clicking with him.

What else ......... I promise to try to post or leave a comment when we do leave for the birthing center.

Take care and keep sending those birthing vibes my way!!

Oh, Lillian! How exciting! I seem to have the opposite trouble with my labors...I know as soon as I start contracting that I'd better get to the hospital ASAP, because baby will make an appearance SOON! We joke that if we ever are blessed with another, we'll need to just rent a place across the street from the hospital. My last three were born within an hour of arriving at L&D! I'll wish a little of my speedy delivery energy your way. ;)

Try to relax in the meantime, and enjoy these last precious moments before baby finally makes her arrival. For me the waiting was usually bittersweet...knowing that our family would soon fundamentally change. Even if it was for the better. I'm just emotional like that. :)

Prayers for you and the little one, Lillian, I can't wait to hear of her arrival!!!

Oh, man! I was hoping baby was here already! :-)

Here's hoping for a quick and easy labor and delivery, and healthy and happy mama and baby!

Well, it WILL happen, today, tomorrow, but the baby will come, and then you'll wonder where the time went...Make sure you get your long soak in the tub too!

Do you mean TYCTR in 100 EZ lessons? Yeah, I couldn't understand why we were suppose to string one lesson over four days. That book is too annoying to drag out for two activities. So I do the whole week's lessons in one sitting on one day so we don't have to touch it again till the next week. It rarely takes more than 15 minutes. And you're done! I still think Hooked on Phonics is more Peter's thing, but Charlotte isn't taking to HOP like he did...so maybe TYCTR is more her thing. I'm begining to think it is. Peter like's the stories in TYCTR though and those are good for his comprehension, so we'll keep doing the lessons with him too.

Lillian, after checking my email and seeing your comment about labor, I just had to check out your blog to see about the baby. Thank you for your thouhts and prayers and be assured our ours. And as to the question about the boys being bilingual...they are not. JP had just turned three when we left and whatever spanish he knew then, he forgot for the 1.5 years away from latin america. Now he's picking it up pretty well and Emmanuel, too. THe challenge will be to keep it once we're back in the states for good.
Praying the labor goes well and looking forward to pictures of the newest Smith. God bless.
